Are commercial switchboards the same as residential ones?
The basics of how all switchboards operate are the same, but commercial premises may have different sorts of switchboards. In larger commercial properties, the switchboard will likely receive power from upstream circuit breakers; and the board may be of a fusible or commercial metering type. Why does the switchboard need replacing, and how much will this cost?
Sometimes it’s not possible to upgrade or repair a switchboard – for example, if it’s too old, or presents a high risk of overloading or other major hazard – and the safest option is to replace it. Your best bet is to request one of our electrical contractors to visit your premises, who can come and check it out and provide a quotation.
There’s a burning smell coming from the switchboard. What should I do?
A burning smell coming from a switchboard indicates a serious fault. You should contact an emergency electrician as soon as possible.
