Need a fully-licensed, reliable, and safe contractor to connect your home to the electrical grid?

How can we help?
NEW PREMISE CONNECTION
NEW PREMISE CONNECTION
If your domestic property hasn’t yet been connected to the electrical network, no worries! You will need to complete a Connection Application and send it to Ergon Energy before we can start work; but it can easily be done online via their self-service portal.
Our electricians can assist you with collecting the technical information you need for the form; and we can even speed up the process by submitting the application for you.
CHANGES TO EXISTING CONNECTION
CHANGES TO EXISTING CONNECTION
These are usually done when you’re having renovations, or other changes, made to your home. Our contractors can help with explaining and gathering the necessary technical information to successfully perform the work and to submit your Connection Application.
And, once it’s approved and you receive a contract, we’ll discuss its terms with you and make sure you’re happy to go ahead. Finally, we’ll fill out an Electrical Work Request (EWR) – another form required by Ergon, and your electrical retailer – which includes any further details about your planned connection change.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
CONNECTIONS TO THE GRID - DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL SERVICES
What’s the difference between overhead and underground electrical connections? What will you need to do?
If your area operates on overhead connections, we’ll secure a power cable from the tower to the mains connection box attached to your house (usually found on your riser bracket or fascia). This will enable electricity to flow to your home’s switchboard, and from there to your outlets and switches.
If your house is more than 30 metres from the tower, we’ll need to arrange for a support pole to be fitted on your property, to ensure the safe operation and connection of the overhead cable.
In areas with underground electrical connections, your electricity comes from a box or dome that’s often shared between a couple of properties. We’ll need to run the appropriate wiring and cables underground from this point to your house’s switchboard. Otherwise, the connection process is virtually identical.
How quickly can I expect my connection to be set up?
This will depend on whether your property is under construction or already in use, as well as a number of other factors (such as its location, surrounding environment, and the condition of existing electrical connections/proximity of electrical utilities). We’ll let you know once we’ve assessed your property.
